5 Common B2B SEO Copywriting Mistakes

I don’t know about you, but finding out about some “typical” B2B copywriter mistakes makes me feel better. Let’s face it, we all make mistakes along the way.

But learning isn’t about the mistakes, it’s about gaining knowledge. It’s about becoming a better freelance B2B copywriter.

For me, my biggest blunder was thinking everyone loved SEO (Search Engine Optimization). In reality, many people see the letters S-E-O and cringe due to a misunderstanding of the process. But I didn’t know that, and didn’t understand one company’s response to SEO.

One of my past writing gigs included writing SEO-rich B2B content. The sales and marketing people wanted me to stuff words. The owners thought buyers should know what their verbiage meant. And the developer blocked everything I did saying SEO was dead. I spent too much time scratching my head, and fighting misinformation about SEO content.

A conversation with Heather Lloyd-Martin, from the SEO Content Institute, made me feel better about my SEO blunder. She also shared some solutions for typical B2B SEO copywriting mistakes.
