Last month, I heard from a potential new client who owns two pet businesses — one B2C and one B2B — who was looking for a long-term writer.
Things were going well, with one exception — we had very different ideas in terms of how much a writer should be paid. My quote for the first project was about three times higher than he expected.
It’s safe to say I delivered a bit of sticker shock!
I really did want to work with this client, but I didn’t want to undervalue my services either… so, what can be done in situations like this?
