Reality Blog: Should You Hold a Space for Clients?

Right now, I have five new projects waiting in the wings…

… or, possibly, I have zero projects!

The thing is, over the last few weeks, I’ve heard from several potential new clients. And the initial conversations have gone well. But it’s taking a long time to get approval for my proposals.

The other thing is, most of these clients need the copy on a similar time frame… So, as we get closer and closer to that deadline, it’s impossible that I’ll be able to do all five projects all at once, in that short of a time.

So, in this situation — when you’re waiting and waiting on clients to respond — would you hold a space for those clients?

Do you prioritize the client that contacted you first… or, is it first come, first served in terms of whoever responds to your proposal first?

And, do you still try to meet the deadline?
