There’s just something about the image of an ice cream cone on a hot, summer day, isn’t there? You can almost imagine how refreshing it would feel and how happy you’d feel while eating it. Lovely.
On the flip side, there’s this:
Oh, no! He’s dropped his ice cream and is sad, angry, and probably disappointed. It’s pretty easy to imagine how he’s feeling since we’ve all been there at one point.
Images can have a significant impact on viewers, even more so when you combine them with persuasive words. As copywriters, we’re often so focused on the words that we forget about the images we could use to reinforce our ideas. In fact, we may even dismiss them since they’re “only” support mechanisms. But images are far too powerful to be ignored.
