Recently, a new potential client contacted me.
It seemed like they would be a great match. But, I worried they might be in a similar space to one of my other clients, and that their similarities might make them competitors. If so, I didn’t think it was appropriate to write for two competitors in the same space.
So, I almost dismissed the idea of working with them. Then I thought about it and realized that even though there were some similarities on the surface, I really didn’t know enough about this new company to decide for sure. So, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to get more information.
I went ahead with a phone call. Here’s how it went, and the decision I made.
