Last year, I decided to try and make the move to copywriting on a full-time basis. Luckily, I was able to find a couple of clients right away, and the rest, as they say, is history. Looking back, I had a decidedly unfair advantage, which made my career change almost entirely painless.
You see, I have been self-employed to some extent since 1993 when I started my contracting business. There were many lessons, not to mention a few fines paid, as I learned the right way to set up and run a California business.
Finally, it was time to create a new company for my product sales and copywriting services. I leaned on those “lessons learned” to quickly get me through the process of starting a freelance business without a single problem or snafu.
