Reality Blog: New LinkedIn Character Limits Update

A few weeks ago, I discussed the differences between a freelance website and a LinkedIn profile for finding clients. After crunching the costs and potential traffic, I concluded that the best marketing plan includes your freelance website and a stellar LinkedIn profile.

Well, my LinkedIn profile is still far from stellar at the moment.

I have tried rewriting, tweaking, and editing it since the holidays without much luck. I always seem to end up two or three characters beyond the section’s limit. But I have kept plugging away and finally, finally have a good summary section ready to upload.

But then LinkedIn threw me for a loop, yet again.

After pasting in my new summary text, I still had space available. LinkedIn increased its character limit for profile sections, and here’s what changed.
